 THE people of Finschhafen, in Morobe, hosted the Prime Minister Peter O’Neill on Wednesday. 

O’Neill led a team of ministers, politicians and government officials to see establishments in the area and to open the new district administration complex.

The delegation included Fisheries Minister Mao Zeming, Housing Minister Paul Isikiel, Vice-Education Minister Gisuwat Siniwin, Enga Governor Peter Ipatas, Morobe Governor Kelly Naru, Kabwum MP Bob Dadae, Goilala MP Daniel Mona, Police Commissioner Tom Kulunga and other government officials.   O’Neill touched down at Gagidu Airstrip around 10am and was given a red carpet reception.

He visited the Dregerhafen Technical High School where he presented K1.2 million to the staff and students.

He later travelled to Sambang village, about 2km from Gagidu station, to visit the site where the first Lutheran Missionary arrived to bring the Gospel.

O’Neill and his team later visited the Lutheran Church-operated Braun Memorial Clinic in Butaweng.
