DELOITTE PNG has promoted three people as partners to cater for increased revenue growth.
The new partners are Ernie Gangloff, Kirsty Laird and Bouke Wagenaar.
With seven partners and 135 personnel, the company is focused on clients within the industries of resources, property and construction, finance, public sector and state-owned enterprises and landowner entities.
PNG office managing partner Paul Barber said: “These promotions are fully deserved and reflected the developing business environment in PNG and the increasing demand for services and the more complex and varied nature of those services.”
He said there was a greater demand for advisory and consulting services as well as the more traditional compliance services.
“We are changing our structure to meet those demands and the three partners deserve promotion and will help our office increase revenue as well as lead and develop dynamic teams,” he said.
National leader of Deloitte Private David Murray said he was pleased to witness the office experience such strong growth, which had provided opportunities to promote hard-working people to partners.
“Revenue in PNG has increased by 27% over the last 12 months and we are targeting substantial further growth for the 2011-12 financial year.
“These promotions position us ideally for additional growth across the firm but most markedly within our national staff,” he added.
Ernie Gangloff joined Deloitte in 2002 in a “risk services” role where he gained skills in the public sector financial management, risk management, internal audit, funds management, compliance and financial management services.
A Papua New Guinean, Gangloff graduated in 1982 with a Bachelor of Technology degree from PNG University of Technology.
Kirsty Laird joined in 2005 providing a range of accounting, risk management and internal audit advisory services to both private and public sector clients.
Bouke Wagenaar had over five years experience as a tax agent and tax advisor in PNG.
He serviced a wide range of domestic and multinational corporate clients across various sectors in financial services, telecommunication and resources industries.
Foreign contractor taxation and taxation of international labour were among his interests.
Wagenaar moved to PNG in 2006 and had built a strong tax division with more than 15 professional staff.
He has extensive knowledge of the full ranges of PNG taxes.
Before moving to PNG, Wagenaar worked in the highly sophisticated Dutch tax practice of Deloitte in the Netherlands where he led teams serving a number of major multinational companies.
