LABOUR and Industrial Relations Department is hosting a two-day workshop for managers and supervisors to help improve service delivery to the people.

The workshop, on “Management and management work ethics” – was on yesterday in Port Moresby.

Timothy Pirinduo, an industrial-organisational psychologist, spoke on the effective role of management, ethics and work culture in PNG society.

He stressed the organisation was different from the individual and senior management behaviour such as nepotism, bribery and selfishness were unethical.

Department deputy secretary (operations) Mary Morala was disappointed at the absence of some senior management staff.

“The workshop must build knowledge of what to do as a manager. By the end of this workshop resolutions must be made to move the department forward,” she said.
