AN Australian mining consultancy company is conducting a workshop on mineral processing for students and staff at the University of Technology in Lae.
JKTech is a business arm of the Queensland University in Australia. It is involved in mining consultancy and commercialisation.
The group is conducting a five-day workshop at the university’s mining engineering department starting on Tuesday.
A former graduate of the department, Chris Akop, is working with JK Tech on the workshop with two colleagues. They are Diana Drinkwater, a mineral processing engineer, and David di Sandro, a specialist in flotation.
The workshop includes three days of plant designing followed by two days of plant laboratory testing.
