THE Department of Lands and Physical Planning will continue its work in weeding out corruption and malpractice in the workplace, secretary Benjamin Samson says.
Samson told The National that the department’s stand was clear in exercising transparency and accountability.
He made reference to the termination of two officers last year, as a warning that such activities would not be tolerated.
“We are making changes to the department and we will not tolerate any outside deals or illegal activities,” he said.
“The officers are mindful of the stringent measures we have put in place to maintain the standard of the department.”
Meanwhile, Samson said 2020 was a good year and they had achieved some milestones, in spite of the Covid-19.
He said one of the biggest achievement was the online payment system called NiuPay.
“We are encouraging the public and customers to register,” he said.
