Hekari United United’s School of Excellence (SOE) expects a good turnout in its second year of the children’s development programme.
The programme is an initiative of the football team with the aim of moulding children who have an interest to play soccer.
The program was restarted last October after a two year break.
The junior development program was hailed a success with more than six hundred children taking part in the program, mostly from within the capital.
Parents were supportive of the course and commended founder Mrs Vonnie Kapi Natto for implementing the programme.
Mrs Natto was pleased with the outcome last year and believes this year will be even bigger. She urged parents to bring their children when the next programme begins in the coming months.
The program was scheduled to kick off this month but due to groundwork currently in progress it is expected to kick off in the next two months.
“Even though our calendar is tight, I have a commitment and this commitment has to be nurtured,” said Vonnie.
“I am grateful for the course as it attracted a lot of children towards the end of last year. I give credit to my players for their support and assistance throughout the years and giving their time each Saturday for the programme.
