Development that touches people

Letters

ALL aspects of development begins with the family where one wishes to experience real development.
Why is it then that after 40 years of independence, we as a nation still have not fully experienced the impact of real change, or development, especially in the rural areas?
Thumbs up to Usino Bundi MP Jimmy Uguro and his DDA team for the plan to make and distribute roofing iron freely to the people, as reported in The National on July 3.
This is the kind of development that touches people at the family level.
The shift from building houses with bush materials to using permanent materials like roofing iron has completely changed our way of life. Now we build permanent houses and stock them with white good like a fridge and stove.
