Didimix end Hollywood’s reign

IT was a success story for the Poreporena Netball Association when it ended its finals on a high note in the all divisions last weekend.
The finals started off with junior divisions starting with the under 10s, under 13s, under 15s, under 17s and the under 21s followed by the A reserve and the A grades.
However, it was in the grand final in the A grade that supporters and fans were on their heels from the start to the final whistle when Didmix went neck-to-neck with all-time winners and minor premiers, Hollywood.
It was underdogs, Didimix, who were more determined and unseated the favourites, Hollywood to claim the crown.
Didimix started off the first quarter with much anticipation and never looked back to seal victory with a 25-24 scoreline.
The association engaged umpires Janet Ravusiro and Susan Kakare from the PNG Netball Federation to take control of the finals to ensure it went smoothly.
The umpires were pleased with the quality and standard of netball displaced during the finals.
They said with the new facilities now in place the skills level of the players is expected to rise to another level.
