I REFER to an article last Thursday in The National over the merger of two water companies.
We remember the Prime Minister James Marape’s announcement of State, landowners and provincial governments owning percentages of the company.
Such as for Eda Ranu, the State owns 60 per cent and the Central government and Koiari landowners own the remaining percentages.
This goes to other areas operated by PNG Water.
What astonishes me is another media announcement by the State Owned Enterprise minister that the merger will still eventuate.
If that is the case then how about the previous announcement by PMJM?
There is another decision by the National Executive Council shelving the merger and for both companies to operate as current.
Employees of both companies and the public are confused by the two different words coming from two people in the same government.
Can the SOE minister verify with his PM before making press releases?
