Many rural areas of Papua New Guinea have benefitted from health and education by the Digicel Foundation, its quarterly report says.
In the report released on Wednesday, Digicel Foundation chief executive officer Mariana van der Vlies said the foundation had funded and completed 20 projects during the past three months in remote areas of 13 provinces.
The projects included eight double classrooms for primary schools, eight double classrooms for elementary schools and four mobile health clinic ambulances.
She said 23 projects were in progress and planned for completion during the next three months.
Another highlight was the foundation celebrating its third anniversary and a visit by representatives from Haiti and Jamaica.
