STATE of Origin fans in Port Moresby will get a bigger better view of the Game II action this evening as Digicel has provided the National Capital District with a giant screen to show the match live in Jack Pidik Park.
Digicel’s new giant inflatable 25ft by 15ft screen was trialed last Friday evening at the regular Friday night NRL showing in the Park, organised by the NCD Governor Powes Parkop, and was popular with those attended the event.
The new screen was used as an alternative to the older, smaller option permanently located in the park.
As Origin fever grips the capital a bumper crowd of Blues and Maroons are expected to converge on the park this evening and they will now be able to enjoy every play on a giant scale.
Digicel CEO John Mangos said: “The governor’s initiative of showing NRL games live for people to enjoy as a community is a fantastic idea and we are delighted to be able to support it by offering this giant screen for this big match.
“As sponsors of PNG’s premier rugby league tournament, the Digicel Cup, we share the PNG’s passion for the game.”
