Digicel launches seven new apps

Business

DIGICEL yesterday launched itself as a digital operator marking the occasion by delivering seven apps and a promise of powerful digital experiences.
According to a statement, Digicel Group chairman Denis O’Brien said this new frontier was about stepping into the future.
“This is the biggest thing we have done since our launch in Jamaica 19 years ago,” he said.
“Today we’re taking a massive step into our future and telling our customers that we will be with them 24 hours or 1,440 minutes of each day, that’s every minute of every day and that we will always have an app and a digital experience to delight and engage them.
“That promise of a constant connection in turn makes for a far deeper, more impactful and more resonant relationship with our customers.”
O’Brien said 19 years after Digicel’s launch in Jamaica as a mobile operator and subsequent shake up of the telecoms industry in 31 markets across the Caribbean, Central America and Pacific, the company was still committed to providing the best network, best value and best service for its customers.
“Sports, music, news, local radio, podcasts, messaging, marketplaces, cloud storage; there’s something for everyone – actually more of everything for everyone.
“Every minute of every day.
“And Digicel is the only operator in the market that can deliver that,” O’Brien said.

  • Digicel is marketing cheaper products for Fiji than it has for PNG. It is branding PNG as a second class country to Fiji by the way it offers products to PNG. For example it offers from Australia 100mins of Roaming for Fiji while for PNG, Digicel only offers 20Min at the same cost. Big disparity so PNG do not be fooled by this company. PNG is second class

  • Digicel for information, most of your customers went to Telecom and Bmobile so you can cry as much as you can but I think you are just late to take them back or other you just cry and offer your charges just like Telecom and Bmobile …………. Em Chol…………….

  • We are very privilege to have Digicel operate in PNG. Just imagine before 2007 where Telecom and beemobile were monopolizing our market. Simple mobile phone were own by few rich people and the bulk of the underprivilege population cant afford a simple handset because it’s too expensive. But now since Digicel operates in PNG almost 85% of population owns a phone and are able to communicate and having internet access at their fingertips. And the list of benefits of having Digicel network here goes on. At the end of the day, it’s customers choices and decision to choose between Digicel and telecom/ beemobile.

  • Stop introducing new applications to fool your customers. The real issue that Digicel must look in to is the expensive mobile rates with less benefits. Why provide cheap rate in Fiji and NOT here in PNG.

  • Digicel cut down your call rates and increase your data bytes per kina and you will bring back your former mobile service users. Otherwise go Bmobile, Go telecom.
