Digicel visits learning centres
The National, Wednesday 28th November, 2012
THE Digicel Foundation has started its Christmas visits to community learning centres.
The foundation visited the centre at Ugabega in Vadavada and Mutineo at 9-Mile, outside Port Moresby.
Close to 130 children attending these centres received presents from the foundation and Digicel staff volunteers, who took time off work to share the Christmas spirit of giving.
It was a double celebration for both centres, which celebrated the upcoming festivities while witnessing graduation of the pre-school students.
The students will continue their education at formal elementary and primary schools next year.
The foundation first visited the Mutineo settlement pre-school in July 2009 and was impressed by the work done by the communities.
The foundation funded a classroom in 2009. Since then the school has grown.
