DigicelPlay overhaul to deliver more programmes

 DIGICELPlay has announced a major overhaul of its TVWAN channels enabling it to deliver more programmes to its viewers.

The broadcaster announced on Monday, that TVWAN has introduced a paid channel TVWAN Life and relaunched its existing pay-channel TVWAN Sports to be rebranded as TVWAN Action. 

The existing channels TVWAN and TVWAN Rugby would continue as free-to-air channels. 

Some programmes aired through both channels would now be televised on TVWAN Action or TVWAN Life. 

To watch live telecast of programmes, viewers must subscribe to relevant pay-packages. 

DigicelPlay chief executive officer Nico Meyer said the two new satellite dishes were now transmitting direct-to-home satellite television.

“Our broadcast is 100 per cent digital and supports the Government to position the country well for the end of analogue broadcast which will be effective in 2017,” he said.

 TVWAN Life would feature new drama programmes and additional lifestyle content. It will televise locally produced content and broadcast throughout the Pacific.

 The TVWAN Action channel will feature sporting programmes, action and adventure movies and content. 

“Viewers can still watch their favourite programmes on the free-to-view channels however, these will be delayed or replayed.”
