EAST New Britain Governor Leo Dion has congratulated members of the provincial executive council and the provincial assembly who were sworn in on Monday night.
Dion said time was against them and urged them to be prepared to meet the circumstances ahead of them.
The three PEC members are Transport and Works chairman Joseph Barau, Commerce and Tourism chairman Chengol Manoai and Fisheries and primary industries and Livestock chairman Dominic Kananaelu.
The four members of the provincial assembly are non-government representative Elizabeth Tongne, women’s representative Alice Pawa, church representative Amos Niba and youth representative Cleopas Varpit.
Provincial administrator Akuila Tubal urged them to continue to work on their development plans so they could be implemented.
“Work closely with the private sector to take ENB forward,” he added.
Kokopo district court magistrate Reggert Marum urged the members to ensure they served the people well.
“If we achieve the necessities of life, then we achieve more and we will do best for the people of ENB.
“Your employers are the people and it is important that you return services to the people you work for,” he said.
