ANY crime relating to diplomatic corps and expatriates in the city should be reported to the Gordon Police Station in Port Moresby.
National Capital District Metropolitan Superintendent Perou N’Dranou said during the launch of the diplomatic security policing that 10 officers from the established NCD taskforce unit would be selected from 40 officers to rotate on a fortnightly basis to man the office attached to the Gordon station.
“They will specifically deal with any crime complaint coming from the foreign embassies established in Port Moresby, as well as from other expatriates living and working here too,” he said.
N’Dranou said the office was established so that the expatriates, who played a role in the development of this country, would be receiving law and order services they deserved.
“The Diplomatic Security Policing that is going to be manned by the NCD taskforce will deal with our international community to prevent crimes against the foreign people and their properties and to prevent incidents against the diplomatic staff,” he said.
He urged the team to be more disciplined.
N’Dranou said the office did not have any stationery or logistics as they had just opened it.
