Disabled hail move on pensions

 PEOPLE With Disability (PWD) in Lae, Morobe, have welcomed Prime Minister Peter O’Neill’s announcement of the Government’s planned pensions for them and the elderly.

Their spokesman, Peter Bonnie expressed appreciation to O’Neill in Lae.

“I have contested the Lae lord mayor’s seat for five elections but was not successful after being in Lae for so long. This is the first time such assistance has covered us, the disabled and the old aged,” he said.

“Despite the resources of the country, there was no proper human resource development.

“As a disabled person, I have noticed that some sections of the population have been left out of government development plans,” Bonnie said.

“I thank the prime minister as he has set the foundation for the country into the future by including us. I thank the National Government … if I were a dog I would wag my tail,” he said.
