Discipline children to move country forward

Letters

EVERY year, thousands of students drop out of the formal education system in Papua New Guinea (PNG).
Some tend to engage in criminal activities for survival.
This behaviour causes an increase in negative social issues in the country.
This often stresses the Government to address law and order issues.
One potential contributor of the problem is the lack of proper discipline and control of children by their parents at tender age.
Very strict discipline from the parents provide strong guidelines to help children become successful through education and contribute meaningfully to the development of this nation.
Thus, parents should focus more on their children’s education to move their children and the country forward to the next level.
