Discipline, teach children good values

Letters

EVERY year, thousands of students drop out of the formal education system in Papua New Guinea.
Some of them tend to engage in criminal activities for survival.
This behaviour caused an increase in negative social issues in the country.
This often stresses the Government to address law and order issues.
One contributor to the problem is the lack of discipline and control of children by their parents.
Strict discipline from parents provide strong guidelines to help children become successful through education and contribute meaningfully to the development of this nation.
Thus, parents should focus more on their children’s education to move their children and the country forward to the next level.
