Discipline yourself

Letters

ANY success worth achieving will never come easy.
As the saying goes, what comes easy won’t last, and what lasts won’t come easy.
Many of us young people in Papua New Guinea have instant gratification.
Because we live in an era where everything in terms of communication and technology is almost instant, we think great success will also be instant.
Well, the old saying still holds true. No pain, no gain.
If you want to be successful as an individual, you have to work hard. If you are in school, you have to spend most of your time with your studies.
Well, that is no longer the case this day.
Many of our students are no longer prioritising studies.
We allow time killers such as Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram to steal our time.
Does that mean all these technologies are not good?
Well they are not bad.
We can use these platforms to elevate ourselves both financially and professionally. However, the point is, if we are using these technologies to just pass the time, we will realise that we are not productive.
Let us be reminded, time is a limited resource.
Once it is wasted, it will never come back.
All in all, it boils down to discipline. If you cannot discipline yourself, the guarantee of success will be less.
If you can discipline yourself, success will all be possible.
There are two pains that we will all have to face.
So choose your pain.
All in all, we may not go back to the past and make a brand new beginning.
But we can start now and make a brand new ending.
