UPDATES on the US$12 billion (about K42.10 billion) Papua LNG and US$5.4 billion (about K18 billion) Wafi-Golpu gold and copper projects, business and investment opportunities will be discussed this week.
The three-day online 2021 Business Advantage PNG investment conference will be opened tomorrow by Prime Minister James Marape.
Andrew Wilkins, the publishing director at hosts Business Advantage International, said Marape would outline his government’s strategy for improving the environment for business and investment in PNG to an audience of international and local investors, financiers and senior business executives.
He will be joined by around 40 speakers including Samoa’s new Prime Minister Fiame Naomi Mata’afa, Australia’s minister for international development and the Pacific Zed Seselja and former ANZ Bank chief economist Saul Eslake.
“The international event is a digital conference to avoid the Coronavirus (Covid-19) related disruptions and is being live-streamed globally,” he said.
“There will be discussions on the country’s current business and investment conditions, and there will be a major focus on the country’s ambitious infrastructure and energy plans.”
