THE Tambul-Nebilyer has allocated K2 million to support its students attending universities and tertiary institutions.
MP Win Bakri Daki said he believed in investing in tomorrow’s leaders.
“We have decided to support our students in universities and tertiary institutions,” he said.
“K284,000 has been given to subsidise student fees in Port Moresby, K4000 to students in Central, K3000 to students in Milne Bay, K172,000 to students in Lae, K61,000 to students in Madang, K177,000 to students in Goroka, K27,000 to students in Chimbu, K31,000 to students in Jiwaka, K122,000 to students in Mt Hagen, K8000 to students in Enga and K10,000 to students in Hela.”
Daki said they were giving the students K1000 each to subsidise their school fees.
“You are the future. Tomorrow you will be the leader,” he told them.
“So study hard, get your degrees, your masters, your certificates and come back home and work with me to build our district, our province and our country.”
Daki gave K149,000 to the 149 members of the Tambul-Nebilyer Students’ Association attending the University of Papua New Guinea.
“We as leaders are doing our part to subsidise your school fees and you must do your part by studying. So don’t go on Facebook and write about this and that about leaders.”
Daki, who has nine children, said as a father he understood the value of investing in children.
