District court hearing Pang’s drug case today

THE Boroko District Court yesterday adjourned the submission of Sanctuary Hotel operations manager Jamie Pang’s case because the prosecutor was served with the submission a day ago.
Prosecutor Sgt Sandra Holland told the court that the prosecution would not be able to make a presentation on the submission because they were served late Tuesday afternoon.
Holland said submission was not served to her directly at the office but served to her colleagues at the Water Police Headquarters.
The defence lawyer, in his instructions, said it was up to the court to decide when the hearing of the submissions would take place.
Magistrate Garry Unjo then adjourned Pang’s case to today for the no-case submission and extended his bail.
Police allege that on Nov 16 at 6.30am, Pang was at his hotel when the police and customs officers in a joint operation raided the establishment using a search warrant and found a mini laboratory used to produce dangerous drugs at the hotel.
He was then charged with production of dangerous drugs and possession drugs.
