THE Kavieng development authority (DDA) has aligned its training of women in business with the New Ireland Savings and Loan Society (NISLS), local MP Ian Ling-Stuckey says.
“K1 million has been endorsed to fund SME startups who require soft loans of up to K3,000,” he said.
Ling-Stuckey said this during a community development forum on Sunday at Fissoa village in ward 11 following queries on what plans the DDA had to train women who were seeking loans to start small businesses at the village level.
He said K700,000 of the K1 million had already been deposited with the NISLS in last November, with training workshops already conducted at wards 9 and 10 in Tikana local level government.
“I urge mothers and other women to register their commitment and undergo the training to prepare themselves to manage businesses.”
