District to become the best with new vision, says MP

THE Yangoru-Saussia will become one of the best district in East Sepik with a new vision and dream, says local MP Richard Maru.
Maru made the comments when he launched the Kiniambo to Makambu road on Monday at Kiniambo village.
He said the road would extend to Sangera Primary School in the heart of the Sepik Plain allowing more people in the district access to services like healthcare, education, businesses and markets.
“I encourage everyone to think business and cultivate that entrepreneurial spirit,” Maru said.
“The road is an investment by the Government and the Government expects return on that investment and that means the people must get into business and work the land.
“Every Yangoru-Saussia citizen must become ‘hat wok man’ (hard working people), increase cocoa production as a way of thanking the national government for the road.”
Maru said everyone in the Sepik Plain would be connected by road and the road had to be in good condition.
He added that the road was important for them to take part in the chicken out-grower programme as well as other agricultural initiatives.
Maru said the call by the people of Makambu and Pangiambit to extend the road beyond Sangera to Yenchen on the Sepik River was being considered and he would do all he could to realise this dream.
