Middle Ramu district administrator, Edmund Ombeba has told people in the four local level governments that road works will begin next month.
He said recent complaints levelled against MP Tommy Tomscoll for his no show in the districts since his election victory is bad.
The farmers, who visited the office yesterday, said they wanted to know where all the 28 earth-moving machines belonging to the district were and if any road project would be undertaken in the electorate.
Jacob Kunus and Peter Kui, both cocoa and coffee farmers, said it was sad to see Tomscoll not fulfilling his campaign promises.
Speaking in Tok Pisin, they complained about the hardship they have to endure daily and the high cost of bringing their cash crops to Madang from their rural villages.
Ombeba said that of the 28 machines, only seven were working.  They were recently fixed and will be used to maintain the roads.
