PEOPLE from two highly-populated council wards in Nipa-Kutubu district, Southern Highlands, have promised to leave their political differences aside and work with MP Jeffery Komal.

The agreement was reached during the Easter weekend and will be signed soon between the people and MP Komal.

Sowe one and two were the first two council wards to surrender homebrew producing equipment and promised the MP that no son or daughter of Sowe would contest the Nipa-Kutubu seat in future.

Community leader Robin Tuna said the people had reached the agreement as a sign of respect for the MP.

He said no previous MPs had visited the people during festive periods, prayed and sang songs with the community in churches and handled public funds with sincerity and transparency.

Tuna said people wanted a leader who would not differentiate people but deliver services equally to all the people.

Komal said it was a good decision made on a special week.
