Djorne Fong wins Kavieng snooker titles

PAPUA New Guinea snooker champion Djorne Fong has won the inaugural Kavieng snooker open titles.
The 22-year-old defeated his uncle and PNGBSA president Peter Fong 6-4 in the best of 11 frames at the Kavieng club on Sunday.
He also scored the highest break of 62 during the tournament.
Twenty-four players took part in the event which was cued off by Kavieng club president Audie Mossman with a culture group to welcome  the players last Thursday.
Kavieng club manager and tournament director Alastar Choi said all the matches went smoothly and the general impression was that every player was happy to be part of the first-ever Kavieng open.
“We were all privileged to be part of the inaugural Kavieng open,” Choi said.
