Do away with limited preferential voting

Letters

ALL MPS should support the Private Members Bill by Gumini MP Nick Kuman to change the limited preferential voting (LPV) system back to the first-past-the-post system.
The LPV system should be done away with in next year’s national general election.
The majority of Papua New Guineans in rural areas are illiterate and are guided to cast their votes using LPV system to the candidates of those assisting them.
I support of Kandep MP Don Polye’s statement that the LPV system failed him and many others.
The first-past-the-post is good for our voters.
Votes should be counted at local level government stations and witnessed by the people.

Samson Napo,
Former Bulolo MP
