Do not abuse God’s name

I REFER to the letter by Hua Yombohn entitled “Stop using and abusing God’s name” (The National, Dec 21).
I agree with the writer that God’s name should not be abused.
God loves everyone.
God is Almighty and is bigger than our political crisis and upheavals.
We must understand that when righteousness rules a nation, the people rejoice but when evil rules a nation, the people suffer.
PNG has been blessed with several years of windfall from the natural resources boom.
But the majority of the people are still suffering because under the previous regime, wealth is not being shared by everyone except a selected few.
What did PNG achieve in the past nine years under the previous government?
Under the O’Neill regime, our children will get to enjoy some of the windfall as education is free up to Grade 10 this year.
Our leaders will be held accountable for their actions sooner or later.
But God did not give us the right to pass judgment or condemn our leaders or anyone for that matter.
We can only pray for our leaders to surrender themselves to God.
