Do not blame police for Buimo breakout

NOTE with interest about Correctional Services Minister Chris Nangoi’s comments in The National on Tuesday about the escape saga at Buimo Jail.
I noticed that three issues mentioned in the newspaper that led to the escape were overcrowding, lack of manpower, and lack of accommodation for warders that were supposed to transfer in.
Why blame the police when you can’t address the issue?
This is a long time issue that needs to be address by smart people like you.
Instead of passing the buck, you should talk with your counterparts in other government departments and agencies to address this issue first instead of going out to the media and accuse the police.
I believe you were appointed to head this ministry because of your calibre therefore take the blame and address the issue as a leader.

  • Digicel Nada, that’s because the Minister Nangoinis baby sense and lack vision and purpose. The whole CS system needs a complete overhaul and the current Commissioner needs to he changed. I heard he only went for studies overseas and returned only to get the top job. He didn’t serve as warder for long. One may wonder why?
