Huon Gulf MP Ross Seymour has been urged not to dismantle projects started by his predecessor, Sasa Zibe.

Zibe said that when he came in as Huon Gulf MP in 2002, he invited a number of technical people and institutions to be his technical advisors and help him to deliver goods and services to the people.

He said the stakeholders included the Bau Transport Group to provide technical advice and information on the maritime sector, Ross’ Wampar Cattlemen’s Group on the revitalisation of the cattle industry in Markham Valley,  the Bris Kanda programme with the New Zealand government to provide economic advice and support in the district.

“This programme is worth K1 million per annum funded by the New Zealand government for 10 years since 2005,” Zibe told Ross in a letter.

“I hope you will maintain this unique programme for the benefit of our people.

“The above initiatives are some examples which I established to empower and build capacity.”
