COMPETITION pace-setters Lamana Dockers maintained their unbeaten run in Port Moresby AFL with a 43-point dubbing of City Pharmacy Gerehu Magpies on Saturday.

The Murray Barracks Oval once again turned into a goal-kicking party scene as the wharfies plucked the Pies 11.9 (75) to 5.3 (32).

The Gerehu boys opened the game on a high note kicking three goals and a behind through spirited efforts from Bruce Sovara, Ezra Gutono, Kawai Akaru and Ishmael Ekari.

The Dockers also kicked three goals and a behind in the opening quarter to run neck and neck with the Magpies.

The Magpies switched off in the second quarter, managing only one goal as the Dockers unloaded another three majors plus a behind to lead by 13 points at halftime.

The Magpies could not re-ignite in the third quarter only managed a behind as the Dockers went on to belt home four goals and five minors to widen their lead to 32 points.

Young Kimbe import Valu Nakas was in top form for the Dockers winning the tap outs in a rucking duel while experienced Desmond Kaumu, Paul Tika, Wesley Yuwi, Stanis Isu, Sebby Gelu and young Simon Kaumu had their fair share of possession to set up the win.

Only a goal by each side in the final quarter highlighted what was a anti-climactic frame but the game had long been decided by then.

In the other match also played at the Murray Barracks Oval MoniPlus Taurama Suns belted the sting out of home team SP Brewery Defence Hawks 13.10 (88) to 3.3 (21).

The late afternoon clash was between Digicel Gordon Kokofas and Kwila Gulf Giants. The Giants put up a powerful finish in the last quarter scoring 5.3 to 2.1 but had they shown that form in the first three frames, they would have been on easy street.

The Kokofas won 10.6 (66) to 6.9 (45).
