QUICK Pest Control & Chemical Supplies Ltd gave M4M Bulldogs a reason to celebrate with a full set of uniforms worth K4,000 in the Popondetta rugby league competition.

In the round six matches on Sunday, Bulldogs edged the fiery Medics 10-4 in a defensive encounter.

Medics were first to open their account just before halftime through former Lae Tigers centre Russ Kaupa Junior who snuck through a disorganised Bulldogs defence line for an early 4- 0 lead.

The second stanza of the game got the crowd on their feet as both sides lifted their intensity in the middle of the rick.

Doggies John Mabol slotted an easy penalty goal to trail 4- 2.

Mabol got his team level with another penalty and the scores were locked at halftime.

Medics had a try disallowed after a Kaupa inside pass to Abraham Sai was ruled forward.

Bulldogs surged in the last five minutes and that effort paid off when winger George Bungewa picked up a loose ball at the halfway mark and dashed off to score at the corner. Mabol nailed the sideline conversion to push their scores to 10-4.

The HOP Tigers – Cross Back Spiders match was cancelled at half time due to poor lighting.

The game will be rescheduled for later in the month.
