A long held tradition of the Boroko Swimming Club is the hosting of their annual sprint competition, namely the BASC Dolphin Sprints.
The Dolphin Sprint competition is one of four premier swimming events held in Papua New Guinea each year and is open to all club swimmers from around the country.
The pool competition is being held at The Ela Murray International School 25m swimming pool commencing on this afternoon, June 6 -7.
“Sixty swimmers from as young as five years to the master categories from Boroko Swim Club and Lae Swim Club have registered to take part.
The BASC is very excited about the event and members are preparing well to host the Sprints”, said president of BASC Des Blake.
“The sprints will cover all four strokes, over distances of 25m, 50m and 100m,” said Blake.
“The competition will see swimmers chasing gold, silver and bronze medals as they compete in their events during the weekend.
“Spectators are most welcome to come and witness our swimmers competing for places and improving times.”
