Don’t sell stakes in bemobile

I BELIEVE Sir Mekere Morauta was the one who initiated the idea to sell part of bemobile to overseas buyers such as Vodafone.
The government should not be narrow-minded and sell off its 50% ownership.
It should not sell to Digicel either, as that would inhibit competition.
If it goes ahead with such an ill-conceived idea, it would be mismanaging our economy.
Selling 50% of its ownership of bemobile would fetch a huge windfall and there would certainly be opportunities for “schemers” to negotiate for their commissions.
