NORTH Fly MP James Donald presented K100,000 to Western’s South Fly to build a promised classroom for an elementary school in the district.
The presentation was witnessed by North Fly administrator Greg Isau and the Kurinty villagers last week.
Donald said the presentation was to honour his commitment made last year to fund a building for the elementary school as a token of appreciation for the committed South Fly people serving in his district over the years.
“The K100,000 presented to build the new classroom is to sincerely acknowledge, appreciate and give back as a form of recognition to the committed public servants who are from the Pahoturi River region, rendering their services to the North Fly electorate for more than 30 years,” he said.
Donald said it was fitting to honour the commitment because many senior public servants serving in the North Fly were from Pahoturi River.
Among these public servants are Charlie Buai, Ziku Piak, Gebo Kelewe, Kiba Aeya, Gipo Minaru, Bolozi Yowa, Ken Potan, Dalu Samai, Peter Nagai and Nanu Sekere
Donald acknowledged and paid tribute to the late Nuken Somoi, Joseph Moide and other public servants who passed on while serving North Fly.
