Don’t let foreigners define PNG

Letters

READ with interest the letter by writer Galaxy S on July 1 stating that Papua New Guinea still ranked most corrupt.
The ranking of the most corrupt countries in the world is determined by Transparency International, this organisation was founded by former World Bank employees in 1993 as a global movement to end corruption and are based in Berlin, Germany.
The recent polls published by Transparency International ranked Iraq as the number one most corrupt country in the world, with Colombia, Mexico, Brazil and Russia concluding the top five.
Most of the countries that are found on this list are developing nations, and PNG falls into that category of a developing nation.
The World Bank is an international organisation dedicated to providing financing, advice, and research to developing nations to aid their economic advancement.
The bank predominantly acts as an organisation that attempts to fight poverty by offering developmental assistance to middle- and low-income countries.
Majority of the developing nations, including Papua New Guinea fall into that category of middle to low-income countries, and majority of this nations borrow from the World Bank.
Now as you can see, one organisation was founded by former employees of another organisation, do you think there is some sort of a link or questionability into the findings and publishing of such information.
Every country found on this list are mostly developing nations, every publication has an agenda to push, and every agenda at the end of the day serves the interest of those pushing it.
PNG was founded on the ideology that we are a beautiful and colourful nation, and I strongly believe that.
Let no foreigner or outsider say otherwise, let us all not take what is portrayed of us as facts, but instead, let us all embrace our nature and identity, let us all stand together as one people, one nation, one country.
