Don’t plant oil palm in Markam Valley

Letters

MARKHAM Valley is ideal for cattle and sheep farming, not oil palm.
Not long, the whole of Ramu and Markham valleys will be covered with oil palm.
Oil palm planting should stop at Ramu.
It should not go all the way to Markham Valley.
Reserve Markham Valley to graze livestock.
We need more local protein and dairy products in our shops.
The Government and the people of Markham should note that human beings do not live by eating oil palm but through the proceeds from its sale.
However, with cattle and sheep farming, people benefit abundantly.
It is time the Government step in for the people of Markham to assist and revitalise cattle and sheep farming.
It is time we address the increasing prices of imported protein and dairy products.
