More downstream processing needed

Business

A LOCAL says more downstream processing of raw materials should be encouraged in the country.
Dayelyne Tawalan Langarap from Manus is the founder of the Kumul Organic Cosmetics, a local company which uses raw materials and herbal plants to produce cosmetics.
“The country should not rely on imported materials anymore,” Langarap said.
She said that the country should by now have its own factories to produce and pack products.
Langarap has qualifications in Cosmetic Science, herbal and holistic medicine, aromatherapy and perfumery from the Top to Toe College of Beauty Therapy and Cosmetology in Singapore.
Its affiliates are France’s Comitte International D’esthetique Et De Cosmetologie and United Kingdom’s J Hoare Institutes.
