GABUTU Dragons will look to retain the pole spot when they face newcomers SS Rabbitohs in their Moresby South Rugby Football League A-grade clash at Moresby South Stadium tomorrow.
Dragons, reigning premiers Taurama Wolfpack, Joyce Bay Roosters and Kaugere Bulldogs have so far continued their perfect start after two rounds.
But Dragons sit atop the ladder due to their better points differential.
Their pack of Mark Kumbi, Justin Tuli, Hirex Tason, Jonah Wesis and Peejay Solien continue to dominant sides through the middle.
Head coach Bagelo Solien said he has confident in his backline of Jacob Peter, Joe Kumbi, Martin Paisoi, Steven Peter, Rex Alleb, Aaron Tom and No.1 Keith Thomas.
“Our current system is different from the past,” he said.
“We all have to attend every training session to be considered for the 17-man line-up each week.
“There is no free ride.”
Confident of a good showing, coach Jimmy Hama has improved his Rabbitohs’ defence as they look to give the ladder leaders a run for their money.
Hama has been working with Alfred Smith, Butavi Kima, No.9 Jacob Kemi, Peter Steven, Kavini Bruno and fullback Ben Benny all week to ensure they make the right decisions in attack.
In the other matches tomorrow, newcomers Vabukori Mosquitoes will face Kipo Eastern Pride.
