DREIKIKIR High School in East Sepik plans to host a week-long mini crusade by next month.
It will be the first time the school hosts a crusade during which a dedication ceremony for the school and new teachers’ houses will be held.
Rev Yambe Sike of the Nazarene church in Wewak will be the main speaker.
Principal Fredrick Mahisu said they had started a student’s Christian fellowship programme last year and would continue with it this year.
“The programme will be effective after the dedication of the school and the new teachers’ houses,” he said.
Mahisu said they had seen many changes and big improvement in
the behaviour and attitude of
students after the fellowship was introduced.
“With this fellowship programme we will host a mini crusade for our students, teachers and their family members and the surrounding communities.
“I believe the only way to change the attitude of students is by enforcing Christian discipline in the school,” he said.
He said the programme included a church service every Sunday and Friday, with devotions every Tuesday morning
The school had a roll of more than 500 students.
