POLICE have charged two youths who were caught drinking homebrew in a Catholic prayer house in Madang last week, commander Supt Mazuc Rubiang says.
“Police were tipped off by the public of the noisy drunkards in the prayer house,” he said.
“Youths should not be drinking homebrew in a prayer house.
“Please show some respect.
“People should know the proper place to have their drinks.
“A prayer house is not a bar where drunkards can go and enjoy themselves.
“They must respect the house.”
Supt Rubiang said the manufacturing of homebrew from neighbouring villages and settlements within the town was a concern that police were looking into and trying to address because of law and order problems related to homebrew in the province.
