Drunk officer arrested

AN Enga policeman in uniform was arrested and charged with dinking in public at the Aipus rugby league oval in Wabag on June 9.
The policeman was nabbed for allegedly drinking at the Digicel Cup intercity rugby league competition between the EPG Enga Mioks and Lae Snack Tigers.
Provincial police commander Chief Supt Joseph Tondop warned that:“This is the same punishment policemen and officers will get if they are caught breaking the law.
“I will not tolerate such unbecoming behaviour or conduct by my men and women. No one is above the law.
“We are supposed to be the first to respect the rule of law if we want public support.
“I will not hesitate to dismiss members of the Royal Papua New Guinea Constabulary who think they are above the law and are tarnishing the image of the force.”
