DEVELOPING human resources is the way forward to seeing development and change happen in the country, Member for Madang Nixon Duban says.
He made these remarks when presenting a cheque of K300,000 to the Malmal community in Madang district recently.
The cheque presentation was to help the community relocate the school which was being threatened by the rising sea level.
Duban, who is also Minister for Transport and Infrastructure, said the type of services people really needed must be delivered to them and that political differences between leaders and aspiring leaders must be set aside.
He said children were the future of the country and must have better learning facilities including classrooms and teachers, so that they could make sound judgments in life as they grow up.
He believes that developing human resources was key to developing the nation.
Duban said he would continues to support schools throughout his district as well as students attending tertiary institutions in the country.
“I urge you parents to spend more time with your children and detect their intelligence at an early stage, and support them as they grow,” he said.
“Education must start from home and that is the basics.”
