PETROLEUM Minister Nixon Duban was yesterday questioned in Parliament on the Konebada Petroleum Park outside Port Moresby.
Lagaip-Porgera MP Nixon Mangape asked Duban:
- Why persons implicated over the misuse of millions of kina for the park were not arrested;
- why Petroleum and Energy Secretary Rendle Rimua remained when he was labelled “incompetent”;
- when the park would be developed;
- what projects or infrastructure had been built; and,
- Why he was not implementing the findings of a 2010 Public Accounts Committee report into the park.
Duban, in reply, said a number of companies wanted to use the park for petro-chemical purposes.
He said the PAC report remained to be implemented.
Duban said the land would be sub-divided and allocated for petro-chemical purposes.
