A FATHER and son were killed at Jinko village in the Yabim-Mape local-level government area of Finschhafen, Morobe last Tuesday, according to police.
Police described the case as a “sorcery-related double murder”and said the 55-year-old man and his 18-year-old son were from Qaqa village in upper Mape.
Provincial police commander Superintendent Alex N’Drasal said the father and son were killed while they were sleeping at night.
“Two suspects dressed up like Ninjas walked into the house with bush knives and two guns and started chopping the victims,” he said.
Police in Finschhafen inspected the crime scene some days later, he said. The police report said the bodies of the deceased were buried and the suspects’ identities were not known to police.
N’Drasal said police believed that the relatives of the deceased persons should have leads.
He appealed to villagers in Yabim-Mape to help police in the investigations.
Meanwhile, a suspect is in police custody after the death of a 14-year-old girl of Butala village in the Yabim Mape LLG area.
