Business

BIBRA Awok, 31, of Sauga village in Ijivitari, Northern, and Julienna Ope, 40, of Ialibu, Southern Highlands, are in the handicraft, floriculture and local catering business.
Awok is a member of Central Flori-Culture Association.
They both have been in the business for a year.
They were sharing the same stall at the Sea Park Bazaar, a market platform for PNG SMEs promoting PNG Products during the Independence Day at Ela Beach in Port Moresby.
However, the two were businesswomen in their own right.
They were selling handcrafted bilums, blouses, Oro tapa bags and wallets, handmade earrings, necklaces and store goods.
They said services such as safety and security, toilets, masks, hand sanitising, lightings were provided.
The Sea Park Bazaar was a free market space for 189 vendors.
Awok said she made around K120 a day for five days since last Friday. “I am happy about the free venue for SMEs to make money,” she said.
“Our health and hygiene, security and safety and market management are just perfect.”
The duo commended NCD Governor Powes Parkop, Amazing Port Moresby team and NCDC management for providing them the business opportunity.
