THE Divine Word University – the paperless university – has posted a list of its graduating students on the in-campus intranet and on the internet at the university website www.dwu.ac.pg
It invited students, parents and interested people to log onto the website and check the list of the graduates
for the graduation ceremony to take place at the Madang campus on March 4.
University executive officer for student affairs Ted Alau said 1,514 students would be graduating.
He said 764 had graduated from their own campuses while the rest would graduate from the Madang campus
He said it included 43 teachers for the Nauru Education Department.
DWU has been providing teacher education for Nauru, with the university sending lecturers to the small Pacific island nation to conduct training in the past several years.
DWU affiliated colleges whose graduating classes are included on the list are the Lutheran School of Nursing in Madang, St Mary’s Nursing College in Vunapope, OLSH Teachers College in Kabaleo, Don Bosco Technological Institute in Port Moresby and Good Shepherd College in Banz and the DWU Wewak campus’ teacher education programme.
Students who wish to graduate in person at the Madang campus are required to be there on March 3 for the rehearsal and collection of gowns.
The gowns will be on hire for K50 or can be bought for K500.
Alau said students who had
successfully completed their courses but owed fees to the university had
not been included in the graduation list.
He said: “In keeping with the university policy these (fee defaulting) students cannot graduate until they pay their fees.”
