THE West Eagles will be on the hunt for their third win of the season when they play the Dockers in round four of the Port Moresby AFL competition tomorrow.
The opener of the double-header at the Colts Oval will be another chance for both teams to step up their game, says Eagles coach Danny Meli.
“This weekend’s game against the Dockers will be a strong one and we’re hoping to have a good display from everyone this weekend,” he told The National.
“It will be a team effort if we want to get another win this weekend.
“We’ve been playing well so far and the boys have been really trying to get themselves prepared for this match.
“We had a small hiccup in the first round where we thought we were having friendly matches but it was the actual start of the season so we’ve moved on from that and we have since been serious.”
Meli will be looking to his centres Greg Ekari, Kila Rawali and Clyde Pulah to control possession against the Dockers side who will be looking to rebound from their 14-40 loss to Kokofa-Cats last weekend.
The Dockers’ Laurie Logo and Archie Mai Jr are expected to lead in the centres.
